In this biography, Jeff “Soapy” Smith’s life is examined as he devoted his energies and abilities nefarious ends. He spent his adult life in the pursuit of plunder using his genius to rally scoundrels and scalawags around the sleazy banners of crime and corruption. He amassed sizeable fortunes that he gambled and gave away. When the forces of decency in Colorado called his hand, Soapy headed for the new gold fields of the Klondike. His story is told through his death in July 1898.
