Description

Over the past 40 years, I have collected numerous rodeo cowgirl items including a vast selection of  Postcards. Most all of those featured here for sale have been published in my book Cowgirls; Early Images and Collectibles released by Schiffer Publishing in 1994.

046 – RP postcard, in good to very good condition, used but stamp is missing. Caption on bottom of image is “Prairie Rose Henderson on “I’m Gone” Stampede New York City 1916″. Also, “Newman photo # 76” appears near the lower left hand corner. Correspondence on reverse asks the recipient if she did this in Billings. Also talks about the New York stampede: “This afternoon the champion rider was thrown. This girl wins the title. One fellow broke his collarbone and another broke his leg within a few feet of my seat.” It is post marked Brooklyn NY Aug 12, 1916.  Pictured in my book, Cowgirls; Early Images and Collectibles (Judy Crandall) on page 25, 3.5” X 5.5” standard postcard size. $125.00
