Powder horn and Primer powder horn ~ Antique
- A large, 10″ long X 7 1/2″ circumference, dark-tipped powder horn featuring a carved wooden base plug secured with brass nails and a leather carrying strap. A smaller, 6″ long X 6″ Circumference used as a priming horn to carry fine powder for the gun’s flash pan.
- Both are crafted from natural cattle or steer horn with wood stoppers and leather accents.
- Common in the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly during the American Revolutionary War and the Civil War eras.
