Condition; good, dust jacket has paint stains and use wear & tears over hard cover

A presentation of correspondence between Albert and Jennie Barnitz, 1867-1868. He was stationed at Fort Riley Kansas and while she first accompanied her husband west, quickly returned back home to Cleveland because of the growing perils of Indian Clashes. Beautiful presentation of thoughts and life on the frontier. Both took a lively interest in everything they saw and both had sharp eyes for telling detail. Fascinating story that also includes their diaries.
