This is an antique F.B. Rogers Silver Co. model 273 silver-plated roll-top butter or caviar dish featuring ornate lion-head cabriole legs.

  • Produced by the F.B Rogers Silver Company, a prominent American silver manufacturer established in Massachusetts in 1883.
    • Featuring a distinctive fluted dome lid that rolls back smoothly inside the base frame to reveal the serving section and ornate, tripod-style legs capped with detailed lion heads at the top and ending in claw feet at the base.
    • Small decorative handles on the side is used to roll it open and closed.
  • These servers originally shipped with a removable, clear glass insert (or liner) to protect the silver plating from acidic foods or salt, which is missing from this piece.
