Box of Collars by Slidewell ~ Vintage
This box contains six vintage detachable shirt collars from the brand Slidewell, manufactured by Hall, Hartwell & Co. Rare. Plus one from Oneta.
These items date back to the early 20th century, specifically around 1910 to 1913, Edwardian. During this era, men’s shirts often featured these detachable collars, which were stiffly starched and fastened to the shirt with collar buttons or studs.
The “Slidewell” name refers to a specific patented feature: a “shield” or insert at the back of the collar designed to allow a necktie to slide through easily without catching, which helped preserve both the collar and the scarf/tie.
Some water damage/spots on box. Overall good condition for age. Box includes tab of collar buttons from Paris, France. Box measures 7 1/4″ X 8 1/4″ X 3″ tall.
