Presented here is one of the most famous expeditions in American military annals made during the Mexican War by Col. Alexander William Doniphan and his force of 856 Cavalrymen from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Saltilllo, Mexico and then down the Rio Grand to a port of embarkation for New Orleans. Includes fold out map of the route, and a table of the distances traversed.
