Kutenai/Blackfoot warrior original painting by Jerry Crandall 40" X 28"
This painting is of the half Kutenai and half Blackfoot warrior, son of the wolf. Decorating his hair are the "bowtie" shell and beadwork ornaments, plus hair pipe with bead drops. He is holding a vicious-looking gun stock war club. Wrapped around his body is a beautifully painted buffalo robe with the design commonly worn by women; however, there are several paintings by Karl Bodmer and George Catlin of men also wearing this linear design. A magnificent grizzly bear claw necklace, a sign of importance and stature, is around his neck.
